They're famous for their pioneering of sophisticated technology to make video games, the sheer amount of double entendres, the idiosyncratic little mysteries they weave into their games that leave gamers pondering for decades, and their media-shy nature. (formerly Rareware) is a Twycross-based (though they started in Ashby-de-la-Zouch) video game development company founded by Chris and Tim Stamper in 1982. keep us updated if you get more into the dark gdk and c++, i would like to know how it goes.Rare Ltd. i may try it on my other computer for this job just to see how it goes.

makes sense but i hate installing any kind of monitoring software on my computer. They have a new system for buyers to pay you by the hour which is setup for one job i am considering bidding on, but they require you to have software on your computer to monitor your work to be sure you are not logging time that you don't actually work.

lately there have been more jobs that are "up my alley", i just have not had the time to give to any other work at the moment. I haven't been awarded any jobs there yet but i am very picky and have only bid on about 3 in the past 6 months. you might look at some of the sites like RentACoder if you are looking to making some extra money. well good luck with the job hunt and the learning.

#The game creators ltd upgrade#

it always bugs me when you upgrade and things don't work anymore. i have not tried it on windows 7 but i do remember trying it on vista and it ran fine. i still have the video project i created several years ago.

the dark gdk.net definetely sounds interesting though and should not have the requirements that xna does, which is one reason i never dove into xna when i first came across it the pc i had at the time wouldn't support the graphics card requirements. i have been dabling with c# for a little while now and was looking at xna but i don't hvae the time at the moment to dive into it fully. c++ is something i have not looked at much but at the moment i am not too eager to dive into it. i am interested in seeing how they integrated it with visual studio.

#The game creators ltd pro#

i remember it being fairly easy to use darkbasic pro because the syntax was pretty easy to understand. Hey John, it looks as though dark gdk is free and requires c++ express and directx sdk, and dark gdk.net is not free but it can be used with vb.net and c# in visual studio. Right now I'm still looking for a better paid job as I only work 15 hours a week at the moment and I could soon be starting some further official study too, very soon, towards a degree and Microsoft Certification. It looks like I will try and teach myself the basic syntax of each and see if I can get to grips with them too, however it is not at the top of my things "to do and learn" at the moment. Maybe they will start a DarkGDK support section? At least trying to look at Visual C++ will give me something new to look at, it looks a bit more quirky than Visual C# and I have never bothered to learn either of them yet.

> I can see no harm in asking via one of the forums though if you want any further help. I could only find a support section in their forums but not for DarkGDK. It looks like I might be buying it!! I downloaded C++ Express edition and had to run it at least once after installing some of the stuff from the download page.> It does come with some samples too!! :-D :-) If you get stuck email their support is my best suggestion. For all the others it looks like you have to buy the GDK = Game Development Kit ( I guess ). Hi Jeff, For Express Edition Visual C++ you can get it FREE it seems. net 2008, just not clear on the whole thing.

i did look at the site and if i understand you clearly, you have to download and install the express edition even if you use standard or pro? or can you just download the Dark GDK? It says the requirements are C++ express and the directx sdk but it also talks about visual studio.

add some sound effects and edit it all together, made some pretty nice looking video. Flying inside and outside of the cubes and editing the video to show different videos while going in and out. i liked to do flybys of the cubes playing video for some neat effects. i liked making simple 3d worlds using cubes and i would play video on the surface of smaller cubes inside that would play whilie moving through space using the arrow keys. didn't do much with it in the end as far as games were concerned but it was fun to play with. i have DarkBASIC Professional i purchased probably about 5 or 6 years ago. Hey John, Thanks for the info, very good to know.
